New Catfish Song
Here’s a lovely song that perfectly captures the haunting beauty of the catfish. Turns out one of my favorite artists, Townes Van Zandt was a huge catfish fan too! If you’ve never heard of Townes, he was a legendary singer/songwriter who has influenced just about everyone that came after him. Here he sings and plays acoustic guitar in the original "Catfish song". Watch out! If you like sad acoustic music, you’ll be hooked.
The song has a double meaning, but I tend to see the “catfish” side of it, not the “human” side. In fact, wouldn’t this be a better video if there was a catfish swimming in the background? I can also see an animation starring a catfish, with this as the theme music. There are many possibilities to ponder. For now, I just enjoy the music. I hope you do, too.
Heads Up Catfish Lovers!
The problem is that most of the “catfish” products out there are actually frauds! Most searches for catfish merchandise will bring up products that feature feline’s head with a fish’s body (Get it? “Cat” + “Fish”? -> "Lame!"). Some people may find this humorous and punny, but when you’re looking for something authentically catfish, it sure is annoying, isn't it?
Well look no further! I’ve done the work for you, Catfish heads. Check out a few of my favorite authentic catfish products below.

Rare Artifact links Poseidon to Catfish
What a beauty. When this beauty came across my desk- I had to post it IMMEDIATELY. This is a pure bronze Catfish statue of Posiedon- God of the Water. And who is he with... none other than his faithful sidekick. Little is known about the God of the Water's faithful servant- but over the past decades evidence has arose linking Catfish to Poseidon. Here is a great work of art dedicated to the master of the sea.
Notice the beautiful detail on the mustache of the catfish .
The 3 foot statue is made completely of bronze. Estimated standard auction value for the artwork is upwards of $12,000. However at an Fisherman Memorabilia auction this work of perfection could fetch you upwards of $15,000.

New Fan Mail!!!
Today we received our first nibble of fan mail and boy are we excited! My Wife Martha and I started this blog to create a place for us to share our knowledge and love of catfish. We were so excited when we received the following letter in the mail-
Dear I Like Catfish Blog,
My name is Herbert Von Hueben and I am writing to tell you how much I like your Blog. For the past 6 or seven years I have been a Catfish Enthusiast. There are not however very many places for me to share my love of Catfish here in Tallahassee. Although It was where I met my wife Janice. She and her girl friends were trolling for scuddle jumpers just off the bay when Vic and I saw them from afar. We went over to them and saw that they were trolling for what we love. We struck up a conversation and three weeks later we went down to the courthouse and became Mr and Mrs Von Hueben.
In all our days we spoke about how much we love fishing and Catfish in particular but never were able to meet other people who have the same interests. Now with this blog we are able to meet up with other friends who also like Catfish and share our stories. It amazes me how many other people out there also have this obsession! We were only able to discover this because of your blog. Thank you so much for putting this together and bringing so much additional light into our lives.
I have attached a family photo and hope you can post it on your webpage.
It is of Me, Janice, Ricky Martin, Xavier, and the newest addition to our family- Little Gulliver
Sincerely,
The Von Hueben Family

Well Herbert- We have received your email and here it is- We are proud to also have you as a part of the Catfish Blog Family!

Luke and Chip go Big
Luke and chip went fishing last week and they found this amazing beast- Do you know what it is? Thats right this is a Great Talouca Lake Catfish. One of the largest seen in the last few decades. To get the Catfish home, Luke and Chip had to put the beast in the front seat of Chip's Mazda Miata- Chip took the Catfish home first and then later returned for his friend.
